We want to see the good news of salvation by grace through faith alone faithfully proclaimed to people of all nations starting here in Rwanda. And, those who believe to form communities of reproducing disciples committed to the faithful proclamation of God's word to reach all nations.
OUR STORY
Umuryango w’Ubutumwa Bwiza was founded in obedience to Matthew 28:19-20. The first ideas for planting this Gospel church burgeoned among the students of Preach the Word in 2012. The first Umuryango w’Ubutumwa Bwiza Sunday fellowship took place on January 15th, 20217 at Groupe Scolaire Kacyiru II.
In March 2018, the Government of Rwanda shutdown all churches that did not have a legal personality or were meeting in buildings that did not meet the standards for church fellowship. By then, UUB did not have a legal personality and we were meeting in hall of a government owned school. We had to close our Sunday fellowship.
Fortunately, by then social gathering were allowed. Therefore, members continued to meet and to share the word of God through different social gathering. Meanwhile the leadership continued to work day and night seeking both the legal personality and an adequate place to have our fellowship. By the grace of God, in January 2020, we found a meeting venue that meets the standards.
In March 2020, things become worse with COVID-19. Social gathering were banned as a mean to fight against COVID-19. Social distancing became the norm and all our fellowships moved online.
In October 2021, church gathering were allowed to take place again despite Covid-19. And in February 2022, by the grace of God, Umuryango w' Ubutumwa Bwiza received a legal personality. Having complied with all the requirements, Umuryango w' Ubutumwa now has the freedom to pursue its objectives.
